Unfortunately our left compression spring broke at 5am Friday morning. I made a call to Precision Door Akron at 6:30am and found first of all that they are available 24hours a day. I was greeted by a very friendly voice who had immediate access to my account information. Her customer service interactive skills were impeccable, and I was immediately scheduled for a technician to be attending my house, between 8am and 10am Saturday morning. I then received 3 different emails in the course of the day, making sure all was good, and if the next day appointment was still good. At 7:45am Saturday morning, I received a call, then am email from the technician, Nick Lanham. True to his word, Nick was here in 15 min. Nick was very personable, and professional. Explained everything completely, indicated that it was all under warranty, and was finished within the 45min estimate he gave me. Now the door is quieter and opens smoother than ever before. I am floored that during this day and age, there is still CUSTOMER SERVICE FIRST COMPANIES out there like PRECISION DOOR. Updated in July 2023: Gareth Rogers and Michael (whose last name I did not catch) came out today to repair the actual metal door, which had been bent though my children's misadventures. Gareth and Michael were professional, polite, and comprehensive. They performed the repairs very quickly and had me come outside to review them with me. We noticed that the keyed manual release mechanism stuck a tiny bit when going back into the door. They immediately saw that this needed to be fixed, explained what they were going to do, got out their drill and other equipment and started in on the fix. 5 minutes later they walked through a second inspection with me, and everything was perfect. Thank you again, Precision! ADDENDUM - Gareth let me know that Precision has changed at the corporate level - their actual location is still a locally owned franchise. They honor existing lifetime warranties, but may not keep the original records. He immediately asked the office to send me the original paperwork with my new invoice, but make sure you have your old paperwork. ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM May 2018 - Also was 5 stars: Tyler Barnhart came out to my house when I had an issue with my 15-year old garage door (NOT done by Precision). He solved my immediate issue, and explained the benefits of a new door. He was patient with our schedule, and came out to speak to my wife and me a few times. He was knowledgeable, polite, and not pushy at all. We signed a contract and made a down payment. Today, several few weeks later (Precision was ready to install very quickly after signing, but we had to schedule around other home repairs) Tim Dunne and his crew came and had the new door installed in a few hours. Tim was as polite and professional as Tyler. He took a TON of time walking me through the remote, the access panel, and made some last minute adjustments to the key entry - he stayed until everything was working exactly as it should, and answered all of the (probably dumb) questions I asked. Exceptionally fair pricing, wonderful techs, great service and a lifetime warranty - Thank you, Precision!
