We called a different company first, being new to the area & had an appointment set. Two days before the garage door motor began to simply buzz (think transformer noise) & blink incessantly, but the door would not open. I ended up having to pull the safety rope & good Lord is this door heavy. The other company called with 1/2 hour notice, that they needed to push the appointment to another day. That would not work for us due to our work schedule & so we reached out to Precision Door, after doing some research on highly rated garage door repair companies & are we glad we did!!! First Precision Door answered our call immediately & forgive me we didn't the very nice ladies name who helped us, but she was able to make an appointment for the next day. In fact, she tried to get someone out to us that evening, but the work schedule thing wouldn't allow it. The next day happened to be Saturday & we were scheduled for 8a-10a. We also received a picture of the technician who would be coming out. Saturday at around 745a we received a call from Austin Z. advising he would be at our place a few minutes early. Austin showed exactly when he said he would (~755a) & immediately got to work diagnosing the problems. He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable & quickly identified all the problems, giving us a very clear idea of what we were looking at. Unfortunately for us, what we thought was going to be a simple fix (i.e., replace or repair the door opener) ended up being a mess. We'd just bought the home & didn't realize how bad the springs, one of the bearing end caps (leaking grease), the bent, u-shaped rail & a door opener motor that was completely seized. Austin wasn't phased in the slightest, immediately provided us with a fair quote & get this, had all the parts necessary on the truck to do the work! Now you might be saying to yourself, oh this poor sap got oversold, but let me put your mind at ease. Every one of the issues identified was absolutely the case & the price quoted was more than competitive to 1) replace the extremely underpowered springs (hence why the door was so darned heavy), which lead to 2) a very bent rail from a 3) seized 2010 Liftmaster motor that was sorely underpowered & forced to work too hard for who knows how long, exasperated by 4) grease leaking out of a bearing on one of the end caps, all of which was completed in less than two hours. This is how all companies should operate! The unit installed is Wifi capable & was very simple to setup, we got a new keypad, programmed, ready to go & two openers included as well. Additionally, the motor is warrantied for life, with a belt driven rail where the belt itself is warrantied for 15 years & all the work done on the bearings & springs guaranteed for 90 days (workmanship), no questions asked. By the way the door now opens with the safety cord pulled, with literally two fingers. I can't believe what a difference the new springs made. Austin was truly awesome, a real professional & in this day and age (2024) where every company's service sucks, Precision Door's service really stands out & that is extremely important to us. Best of luck in getting your issues resolved at a fair price elsewhere, with excellent, friendly service. I am telling you if you need the BEST garage door company in the game, in my humble opinion look no further than Precision Door & Austin Z. I promise you won't be disappointed!!!

Tim C was able to replace the weatherstripping on our garage door in record time. He had to find the right weatherstripping because our door is outdated but he did that quickly and got back to us quickly. I would definitely recommend Tim C and Precision door.

BAIT & SWITCH SCAM! I called Precision Garage Door of Akron two days ago to troubleshoot and fix my Linear garage door opener. The tech thought the problem was probably one of my electronic eye sensors. However, he informed me Precision does not work on or carry parts for Lenear -- they only service Genie and Liftmaster. why did he even come out then? I found an $18 sensor replacement on Amazon and showed it to the tech asking if this is what I needed. He claimed he didn't know and instead said I needed to replace the whole thing with a $900 Genie opener. I passed on the Genie and he charged me $75 for a do-nothing service charge. I just installed the $18 sensor and my Linear works great. Hope you're happy with my $75 Precision. Never again!

I feel the service was good and timely. What I didn't like was that they have a $75.00 service charge but surprise you with a $10.00 fuel surcharge on top of that. And this is not noted until you get a receipt after paying. Not a happy camper after this surprise.

Be Aware! I called in to replace a broken spring on my garage door. The technician, after literally a few-seconds inspection, decided that every moving part on the door needs replacement and provided an estimate of about $1300. It was a complete shock. He used scare tactics to try to make me feel that everything will break in a short period if I don't do what he recommended. I paid him the service call fee and called a local company. The job was done after few hours for a total of $360. The local technician took his time inspecting all other parts and found nothing else needed replacement. Precision is not a local company as they claim. They are a franchise of a much larger company with lots of overhead.

Garreth was awesome. He arrived right on time and quickly got to work. He was incredibly knowledgeable and did a great job explaining my different options for a new garage door opener. He got me a quote fast for different options and once I picked the opener I wanted, he installed it. Our spring broke on our garage door on a recently purchased home. Called at 7:20am, Austin Zink, our technician arrived at 8:10am. He was very polite and helpful in showing us the parts that needed replaced and explaining that our door should have two compression springs. After approving the work, he finished the job a little after 9am. Thank you for the quick response and service to get our garage door working again!
